A small state park not far off I-94. No frills, and not many campgrounds, but a nice enough place to stop for the night if you like camping. The campgrounds we stayed at were a few miles from the park entrance, and with no cell service and it being after dark we had a bit of a hard time finding our campground. We eventually found it, a nice open spot on one of the small lakes.
It's a beautiful place. We went there on 9/23/17. There are so many different colored trees in there around this time. All shades of green, golden, yellow, red, maroon, pink, peach, orange and a few more.
Great hiking great wildlife viewing cabins are comfy and face Sunrise over the lake. Rangers are kind and helpful.
We love his place. In the middle of Minnesota it is hard to find a prettier setting in the fall. Horse trails and camp are fantastic.
Beautiful park. Our family rents three cabins each year for the privacy and seclusion. 2017 was strange. They are walk in cabins but people were driving past on the trail, walking dogs, just coming to look. It was constant traffic and we had no seclusion this year. I think the sign that has Cabin Guests Only needs to be more prominent and no motorized vehicles needs to not be in the bushes. Other than that it's well worth visiting.
Also there are a few lakes. I would have liked it more if it hadn't rained there earlier. Still, it was an awesome trip for me.
